Overview

A founder of this firm, Bryant is a first-chair trial lawyer who has won defense verdicts from one end of the country to the other. He developed his trial skills as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia, and he has been at home in the courtroom ever since. As a federal prosecutor, Bryant successfully tried a wide variety of criminal cases to verdict, including a six-week trial culminating in the conviction of banking officials responsible for a half-billion-dollar bank failure.

Since he returned to private practice, some of the country's largest manufacturers and financial institutions have entrusted him with the defense of their most challenging cases. Bryant is lead trial counsel for a large manufacturer of industrial and consumer products in connection with its defense of mask, respirator, and asbestos cases. In this role, he has secured defense verdicts in such diverse jurisdictions as Hawai'i, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and Kentucky. In addition, Bryant frequently defends professional liability matters and represents major lenders in West Virginia litigation involving consumer debt collection and mortgage lending. Bryant has also defended a nationwide pharmacy in the opioid litigation and equipment manufacturers in cases involving underground mining.

Bryant is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, and he has been ranked individually by Chambers & Partners since 2007. He is also active in the International Association of Defense Counsel, where he served as a faculty member for the 2017 IADC Trial Academy. He maintains a special focus on trial tactics and legal writing and frequently lectures at evidence and trial practice seminars.
