For more than 20 years, Rachel has defended product manufacturers in high-stakes mass tort/product liability litigation and related government and commercial litigation.

Rachel has devoted much of her career to the defense of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, often in nationwide multi-district litigations. Rachel has been part of national counsel teams defending manufacturers of female pelvic mesh devices, diabetes drugs, second-generation antipsychotics, and silicone breast implants. Rachel has also been part of the national counsel team defending a “big three” pharmaceutical distributor in commercial litigation related to the ongoing opioid epidemic.

In non-pharmaceutical litigation, Rachel recently represented a major food manufacturer in dozens of cases alleging that a thickener used in breast milk and formula caused catastrophic injuries to premature infants learning to suck and swallow.

In the course of her career, Rachel has also been involved in general commercial litigation, trade secret litigation, First Amendment litigation (on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants), and criminal defense.

Rachel has briefed and argued major motions in federal and state trial and appellate courts around the country. She was a regular blogger on a prominent national drug and device law blog circulated daily to hundreds of subscribers.

Rachel graduated “with highest distinction” from Pennsylvania State University and earned her J.D. from Yale Law School.
